Shame can feel different for everyone but people from most cultures have experience of it. This may be publically at school, online or for some, it’s more hidden through childhood trauma. It may bring deep unpleasant feelings and can change the way we see ourselves. It can also prevent us from asking for help leaving us feeling isolated, internalising our sense of worth within the world.
We have found that once shame is spoken about with someone accepting it can lose its power and a deeper understanding develops which moves the shame away allowing for your authentic self to re-emerge. 🎈
